We got it together and left on our trip Saturday, March 2. Had a problem with the new battery in our car and had to stop along the way to get it exchanged for another one. Other than that all is going well.
Spent our first night in a Walmart parking lot. It has been really cold for this time of year and the cold front is heading south where we were going.
We have been able to spend time with old friends and new friends along the way. Learning more about the pressures and challenges that we as Christians are facing. The enemy is doing all he can to discourage us, defeat us, and kill us. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
Satan wants to steal our joy and happiness, kill us physically, and destroy our relationship with God and other believers. We must follow God closely and be constantly listening, obeying, and evaluating our lives when things seem awry.
When life is not going well, it can be for different reasons. We need to be a good judge of our lives and determine if a situation in our lives is because of our disobedience or obedience. Amazingly a situation can be the same but it can be there for different reasons. That is why it is critical to judge ourselves, lest we be judged. Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? Luke 12:57
If we can judge ourselves accurately in these times of trials and tribulations, we can determine if it is because of our obedience or disobedience. Sometimes it can be a combination of both. Our responsibility then lies with correcting our disobedience, so that our trials can bring glory to God and not condemnation to us.
1 Corinthians 11:30-32 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
We have had a consistently cold winter here in Oklahoma. And one of the main reasons why Christians are growing cold and falling away from the Lord, is because of their inability or unwillingness to correctly judge their lives. And when we do not judge our own life, God judges us and often turns us over to Satan who then has the the freedom to cause us to be weak, sickly, and even bring death. This can happen in the spiritual realm along with the physical realm.
Many Christians today are failing, struggling, regressing; becoming cold and indifferent to God because they have failed to judge their own lives.
