Several years ago I had a thought that when my youngest son reached his last year of formal home education that we would go on a trip together – an extended trip of sorts. This trip would be a type of reward to him for all his work getting to this point. His life has not always been the easiest or most desirous. His mother left the home when he was seven years old. His 9 older siblings also have left the home and also left the Christianity they were taught growing up.
But Nathan has embraced the Christianity that has been the standard of practice in our home for the past 35 years. He has had to endure quite a bit of pressure from some of those family members to leave also and join them in their quest for happiness in the world, but he has endured like a good soldier. So now we are on the cusp of taking that trip.
We are scheduled to leave in a few days. Our plan is to go south from Oklahoma into Texas, working our way down to the Gulf coast, then across the Southern States to Florida. Next we will start up the east coast to the Northeastern states. Once North, we will travel West towards Michigan and Minnesota, crossing into Canada along the way. Finally we will head back south to our home in Oklahoma.
Our plan is to be gone for three months. We purchased a 1993 motorhome for the trip. We have been working at repairing it because we bought it at a salvage auction after it had been wrecked. We also have been cleaning it and doing other repairs preparing it for the trip.
We will be going to different National Parks, historical places, and also visiting some friends along the way. We especially are looking for fellowship with like-minded believers who honor those principles that we have found so important in our lives. If you would like a visit from us, let us know. Or if you know of someone who would like fellowship from someone of our Christian persuasion, provide us a name or contact number on our Contact Page. Looking forward to seeing or meeting some of you on our trip.
