On our trip we have focused on certain criteria to see and explore. We wanted to see God’s creation. We wanted to explore Government and History. And we wanted to see Christianity in the different parts of the country. As believers we should have a grasp of each of these areas as it relates to our present life. Following are some pictures of what we have experienced since we left the Washington D.C. area on Tuesday, April 23. Enjoy the pictures.

We visited the Delaware State House – their Capital Building. It was a self guided tour. The Bill Clerk of the House stopped us in the hall and asked if we wanted to know more. She took us into the chamber and then encouraged us to sit in the Speaker’s Seat and took our picture. She made the comment, “They probably haven’t done that in the other state capitals you visited.” She was right.

Matthew 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Our park ranger gave a tour and talk about the difficulties faced by the soldiers as they wintered here next to Philadelphia, Pa. in 1798. He shared how the men there demonstrated the character quality of perserverance – continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. We as Christians are often compared to soldiers by the Apostle Paul and he tells us in his letter to the church at Galatia. Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

God wants us to learn as His children to learn about all facets of life, because He uses these things in life to teach us His ways. 1 Corinthians 9:10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. In this passage the Apostle Paul takes a principle that any farmer knows about and applies it to Christians of his day, teaching them to compensate the spiritual leaders in their life.
So as we learn about God’s ways in nature, government, history and Christianity, we learn more about God and how to understand His ways in the scriptures. Therefore we gain wisdom and understanding and can better live the life He wants us to live and witness to others who need Christ in their life.
